WAYNE CAUSEY, CONDUCTOR, TN MEN'S CHORALE
Wayne Causey has served as the Contract Worship and Music Specialist with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board since September of 2023 where he conducts the Tennessee Baptist Men’s Chorale and oversees the Worship and Music area of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. Wayne holds the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Stetson University in DeLand, FL and the Master of Church Music degree from THE Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Since 1980 Wayne has served three churches as worship pastor beginning with Ooltewah Baptist Church in Ooltewah, TN, then First Baptist Church in Princeton, KY and, most recently serving 29 years at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville.
Wayne has served as Coordinator of Church Music at Belmont University’s School of Music for over 20 years where he advises graduate and undergraduate students as well as teaching classes in theology, practice, and philosophy of church music in the local church. Causey leads choral worship for churches and personally coaches worship pastors across the state seeking to sharpen their leadership skills.
Wayne, and his wife, Carrie, live on a small farm in northern Sumner County, Tennessee, where they enjoy working in their garden and orchard.
They are the proud parents of two children, Andrew (Lisa) and Joanna (Nathan) and of 10 grandchildren.
